As many as 5% of babies are born with tongue and lip ties. Often, these ties are excessive enough to affect a baby’s ability to nurse, possibly leading to issues of inappropriate weight gain and frustrating situations for both babies and new parents. This presentation will address the issues surrounding these challenges and help attendees in understanding how to recognize signs and symptoms in order to diagnose tongue and lip tie. Additionally, cases will be presented explaining treatment options and adjunct therapies to achieve success.
