The most common issues that create failures of overdentures and All on X cases can be traced to several planning and clinical mistakes. Dr. Strong will illustrate measures to avoid these problems using pretreatment checklists with analog and digital technologies. Strategies and procedures to correct or manage problems using best practices for impressions, centric relation records, vertical dimension, attachment selection and pickup will be detailed. A novel design to complete cases with inadequate inter-arch space will also be reviewed.

This participation workshop provides attendees with model-based, hands-on experience including best practices impression procedures, selection of abutments and pickup of attachments for classic Locator overdentures and the new Locator Fixed prosthesis. Participants will also perform the most accurate open tray impression techniques for All on X cases. Traditional and accelerated (three-appointment method) procedures for overdentures and hybrids will be illustrated with the hands-on activities.
