Restorative dentistry currently lives in a hybrid world. That is to say, exceptional lab work is being produced from purely analog impressions and records, or purely digital, or through various combinations of analog and digital. In light of this, how can the restorative/cosmetic dentist collaborate with the technician to enable them to deliver the beauty, fit, and function desired? This short, concise presentation will cover everything from photography to analog guides and indexes to digital facebows  and mountings on a virtual articulator. Particular emphasis will be given to use of an analog or digital wax-up for fabrication of diagnostic provisionals, which in turn become the key piece of communication for completion of the case.
