While “Tell, Show, Do” may have worked for many years, it may now not be enough to successfully manage and treat fearful pediatric and young patients with special needs. Different times and changing circumstances necessitate new attitudes and different approaches for successful outcomes. Through discussion and case examples, using non-pharmacologic and some pharmacologic management, this presentation will show how to help alleviate fears and will explore behavior techniques for safe and comfortable treatment to achieve the most positive outcome for all.
