Dental trauma in the first two decades of life is quite common. This presentation will review the latest guidelines by IADT and AAE to understand how and why they have changed over time. Treatment options and likely prognoses for each type of injury will be reviewed with clinical cases and current literature discussed. We will review the biologic sequelae of dental traumatic injuries, evaluate treatment aims based on current guidelines to maximize positive outcome, and analyze possible future treatment trends in dental trauma.
