With the advances in Endodontics over the last few decades, we have increased our efficiencies, but our success rates have largely remained static. Minimally Invasive Endodontics (conservative shaping) was developed to retain more tooth structure to decrease structural failures and root fractures, however, the trade-off was that cleanliness suffered. Now there are new devices and procedures geared to clean thoroughly, even in very small shapes. We will discuss the GentleWave Technique as part of the next step in the evolution of Endodontics.
