This course will discuss the early diagnosis of tooth demineralization, focusing on the use of quantitative light fluorescence (QLF). Interventions with fluoride (including over-the-counter fluorides, professionally applied topical fluorides, fluoride varnish and silver diamine fluoride), glass ionomer surface protectants, sealants and minimally invasive products, such as chlorhexidine, povidone iodine and resin infiltration will be presented. We will also discuss risk assessment utilization in decision-making for interventions.
