Restorative care demands continuous learning in the areas of material science and restorative technique. The numerous choices in restorative materials have confused the clinician as to what is best indicated in a given situation. Clinical success demands an understanding of the uses and limitations of these different materials. This lecture course provides a comprehensive discussion of the ever-changing world of dentinal adhesives when considering direct restorative treatment. The course will review available options in adhesive materials including glass Ionomers and bioactive materials, eliminate the frustration of postoperative sensitivity and restorative failure, and implement techniques and material selection for near or direct pulp exposures.
