Understanding anatomical complexities of mandibular technique by examining
the structures and barriers within the pterygomandibular triangle is reviewed. The
conventional IANB, the Akinosi and Gow-Gates mandibular blocks will be presented
in combination with multi-tasking supplementation with infiltration. Other “tips and
tricks” may contribute to a higher success rate. What is within our control? What is
not? What can we do about it? What’s the status of articaine and paresthesia?
