Thursday Courses
Th302 - How to Transition to a Wellness-Oriented Practice Starting Tomorrow
Time: 8 - 11 AM
Room: GWCC,
Type: General    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $0.00  Other Fee: $0.00

This is not another course on the oral-systemic link. This is a highly organized look at the latest information linking oral inflammation to very specific systemic diseases. More importantly, attendees learn how to incorporate this latest information into their daily clinical routines to better help and motivate their patients. Today’s dentistry must be about more than cleaning or saving patients’ teeth. There are now significant recommendations we can make based on the effects that oral inflammation can have on specific systemic diseases.  You will leave this course with all the information and the materials necessary to immediately incorporate a wellness approach into your existing practice routines.

Th217 - Staging and Grading is Great if You Have Plenty of Time: Here is What to Do Chairside if You Do Not!
Time: 12 - 2:30 PM
Room: GWCC,
Type: Registered    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $95.00  Other Fee: $65.00

It does not need to be confusing. The world of periodontics just can not seem to get out of its own way. Every classification system to date has been strong on complexity and weak on applicability…until now. In this course, you will master a chairside, evidence-based approach to identify exactly which patients and which sites treat. Unlike staging and grading you will also learn a decision tree to make clinical treatment decisions. The emphasis is on making a complicated system much easier and more useful.

Friday Courses
Fr241 - Doctors are from Mars and Hygienists are from the Real World: How to Get Doctor and Hygienists to Better Communicate to Help Your Patients and Your Practice
Time: 9 - 11 AM
Room: GWCC,
Type: Registered    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $95.00  Other Fee: $65.00

Everybody suggests it, but no one shows you how to do it...until now. This course presents a framework that doctor and hygienist can use to more effectively communicate. Tools for effective dialog are presented along with the specific parameters for which consensus is necessary . The emphasis is to create a formula through which doctor and hygiene can work together for better patient and better practice outcomes.

Fr253 - How to Keep Your Implants Off of the Failure List
Time: 1 - 3:30 PM
Room: GWCC,
Type: Registered    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $95.00  Other Fee: $65.00

Research confirms that keeping implant surfaces adequately debrided may actually be more

challenging than natural teeth. While there are similarities between periodontal and peri-implant
diseases, there are also some key differences. Understanding these key differences leads to strategies

aimed at reducing the likelihood that peri-implant disease will develop in the first place. Attendees will leave
with a step-by-step protocol for what to do prior to and after implant placement to set the stage for implant

success. Particular emphasis will be placed on what to do and what to use during routine maintenance
visits to maintain implant health. A clear strategy for using what works best for debriding titanium and

treating reversible peri-implant mucositis will be presented.
