Fr345 - Learn to Identify the Top Five Reasons to Refer Your Kids for Orthodontic Intervention
Time: 1 - 4 PM
Room: GWCC,
Type: General    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $0.00  Other Fee: $0.00

Perhaps you've noticed, not all kids look alike. The commonalities are two sets of teeth, and succession from deciduous to permanent teeth. How kids grow from one set of teeth into another is completely variable. This lecture will help to standardize your approach of how you assess a child's dental development. You will learn the what, when, why, and how to refer your patient to the orthodontist. Just as important, we will discuss when NOT to worry  and the tools to effectively screen and analyze your patients. Seeing real cases as they grow and mature will help clarify why and knowing when to initiate treatment, which may be the most important factor in adolescent patients.

Saturday Courses
Sa145 - A Practical Approach to Building Clear Aligners for Tooth Movement
Time: 8:30 - 11:30 AM
Room: Omni,

Clear aligners are the fastest growing segment in Dentistry today. Learn to design and build an in-office "Essix retainer." Several real patient cases using the Minor Tooth Movement Technique will be demonstrated. This hands-on technique is easy to master. You will walk out with the confidence to implement it in your office the next day. All tools to be successful will be provided. If you have cases that exhibit minor tooth movement needs, you can bring actual patient cases and we will build them in class. Attending the clear essentials lecture on tooth movement using clear aligners would be helpful but not required for this course.

Note: Attendees are asked to bring two models indicating crooked teeth (preferably of your own mouth).

Sa372 - Going Digital: How to Learn to Make the Jump from Analog to Digital
Time: 1 - 4 PM
Room: GWCC,
Type: General    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $0.00  Other Fee: $0.00

Digital dentistry is both confusing as well as expensive. Many people have heard of some of the tools required in order to have a digital workflow, but most do not know how the pieces work together. This course will go over digital workflow in orthodontics. It will discuss the various procedures, brands, and steps required to organize a digital workflow, produce a digital impression, and create lab work to assist in aligning your patients teeth. The discussion covers fixed to removable teeth. Multiple examples of real cases will be shown to help understand that this is a process, and that the key to designing a proper digital solution is efficiency.
