Controversies exist when there is more than one accepted method available. Why not use evidenced-based dentistry, clinical success, and common sense to make the best decision? Sometimes a tooth “can” be saved, but “should” it be saved? In this course we will discuss various treatment considerations including screw retained implant restorations vs. cemented, abutment design and material selection, splinting implants together and to natural teeth, immediate loading, and cemented versus screw retained crown and bridge.

State-of-the-art procedures for impression making to ensure simple, easy results for conventional RPDs as well as the most complex attachment or implant-assisted RPD will be discussed. How do you restore your patients who have lost or are losing all of their teeth? The options are a complete denture, an implant retained overdenture, an implant supported overdenture, or a fixed bridge, so which should you choose? Traditional dentures and bridges are well understood, but implant overdentures can be confusing. I’ll clarify the difference between implant retained and implant supported overdentures and when each one is right for a particular arch. Attendees will also learn:

  • How attachment selection impacts overdenture fabrication
  • Which attachments and attachment systems to choose
  • 3 excellent techniques for attachment pick up
  • Different impression protocols and when each is indicated
  • How to get the occlusion right
  • Easy delivery solutions
