This presentation will discuss the history of forensic odontology from Roman times to modern day science. Responsibilities of the forensic odontologist in both civil and criminal matters will be discussed along with demonstrative cases. Special emphasis will be placed on the child abuse and multiple fatality incidents. This program will graphically depict many recent incidents including New York City’s largest mass murder, The Happyland Social Club Fire, the crash of USAir Flight 405 at LaGuardia Airport, the collision of two aircraft over Burlington County, N.J., recent helicopter and bus crashes in New York City, as well as American Airlines Flight 587 and World Trade Center disasters.
