This program is designed to build competence and confidence in the clinical techniques and materials that most impact the practice. Each clinical topic will focus on the skills and knowledge that make an assistant great. Those skills will lower stress and increase the predictability and productivity of routine clinical procedures. Also, it is about building the partnerships within the practice that will lead to exceptional patient experiences. Attendees will leave with an expanded view of what is possible as a chairside dental assistant, a leader in their practice, and an advocate for the patient.

TH114 - The Art and Science of Provisional Restorations for Assistants: A Lecture and Workshop

Provisional restorations are critical to successful outcomes in restorative dentistry. This lecture and workshop will help the attendee to understand the fundamentals of aesthetics, function, contour and fit required in creating excellent provisionals. In the workshop, attendees will complete a single unit molar provisional, a three unit posterior provisional, and a central incisor provisional. The materials, instruments, and techniques will be presented in detail. Attendees will learn how to enhance, correct, and repair the provisionals made in the workshop. In addition, we will discuss how to fabricate predictably excellent provisionals for more complex cases.
