Can anterior composite restorations rival porcelain in strength and beauty? The Bioclear Method of injection molding and injection overmolding of teeth can more conservatively treat teeth than porcelain preparations while providing similar strength and beauty. We will demonstrate how to eliminate black triangles, close diastemas, and mask peg laterals with Bioclear Matrices. Implement truly conservative, patient-centered dentistry by following the engineering principles we will share for fractured incisors. Gain confidence in delivering predictable, conservative options for patients while yielding a profitable result for your office!

Th5012 - Black Triangles, Diastemas and Amazing Contacts in Class II Composites
Time: 12 - 3 PM
Room: Omni, Dogwood B
Type: Workshops    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $435.00  Other Fee: $435.00
AGD Code: 250

Additive dentistry is quite simply fun to do! In this hands-on course, attendees will restore the Clark Class II non-retentive cavity preparation which is now taught in several dental schools. The famous “Rock Star Polish” of composite will be demonstrated. Attendees will learn simplified diastema closure using patented diastema matrices, how to treat the dreaded black triangle, the seven steps to world class contacts in Class II composite, how to maximize heated composite and when to use modern matrices, wedges and separators.

Modern composite procedures improve retention, reduce tooth fracturing and are more predictable than ever. This course will examine injection molding, superanatomic clear matrices, and heated multi-viscosity materials, as well as insurance codes and fees for these advanced techniques. We will discuss compression based class II composites, the keys to great proximal contacts, how to deliver “Rock Star Polish,” selection of matrices to avoid Black Triangles and a method for restoring peg laterals and diastemas, and when to use bulk fill techniques.

Saturday Courses
Sa6099 - The Great Tooth Killer: Cracked Teeth Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment
Time: 8 - 11 AM
Room: GWCC, A312
Type: Lectures    Handouts: Yes
Dentist Fee: $95.00  Other Fee: $65.00

The diagnosis and treatment of cracked and fractured teeth is often a sad, end stage diagnosis. Non-retentive preparation offers a significant departure from the G.V. Black preparations, a leading cause of cracked teeth. We will examine how to diagnose pathologic cracks utilizing magnification and other modalities and treat long before symptoms arise or the tooth becomes unsalvageable. Learn why new Class II cavity preparations and other modalities are crucial to prevent eventual tooth fracture and receive a blueprint for diagnosis and treatment of complete and incomplete fractures.
