The goal of cancer screening is to identify cancer early. Early diagnosis provides
a greater chance for a cure. Many people have abnormal sores in their mouths
with the great majority being noncancerous. Effective screening technique is
critical. Patients with a history of tobacco and alcohol use or prior head and neck
malignancy have a significant risk of developing cancer. Various management
options will be demonstrated to make patients comfortable managing their
symptoms associated with cancer therapies.
