Participation in this course provides an opportunity to understand the
recommendations for prophylactic antibiotics for cardiac and orthopedic patients;
diagnose and manage simple odontogenic infections; know when to refer a patient
with odontogenic infection; and have a better understanding of the different
antibiotics available and their indications and contraindications.
