General Information

Information for the 2008 Hinman Dental Meeting is available on the following topics.

New for 2008!

Check out what's new for our 2008 meeting.

Cutting-Edge Topics

The 2008 program features a broad range of topics, many of which have never been presented at Hinman. They include:

  • A forum comprised of world-renowned experts in restorative esthetic dentistry, who will examine disturbing trends.
  • An implant continuum that will focus on the business of implants, the use of digital and volumetric imaging to improve patient care and implant placement by the general practitioner.
  • An introduction to biomimetic dentistry explores the concept of duplication rather than imitation.
  • Nano-biotechnology, which includes clinical relevance of tissue engineering and regeneration.

Concept of Complete Dentistry

This full-day session, honoring the work of Dr. Peter Dawson, will start with a vision, build a solid foundation, and teach the keys to successful implementation of an optimal practice combining function and esthetics, enabling you to be a problem solver and a business success in a competitive world.

An Early 20th Century Operatory

A fully recreated 20th century dental office on the exhibit hall floor will provide a glimpse of the past when Dr. Hinman himself was practicing dentistry in Atlanta. Re-enactors will complete the exhibit and demonstrate just how far dentistry has come.

Hinman Digital Desktop

New to Hinman this year, the Hinman Digital Desktop will provide an informative preview of the latest technological advancements available today and featured in Hinman's Exhibit Hall.

Concentrated in one location on the exhibit floor, you can learn about emerging and improving technology in a non-sales environment and where you can buy it elsewhere in the hall.

Hinman "Tools You Can Use"

Hinman continues to offer a computerized accreditation process. Attendees will receive a code they can use at an onsite computer terminal to enter and print their own CE certificates or complete this process later at their home or office. In addition, Hinman will provide free wireless Internet in the public areas of Building A of the Georgia World Congress Center.

Online Handouts in 2008

In an effort to provide you, the attendee, with important course handout materials in advance of the Meeting, we will enable you to have online access for downloading and printing. We will make handouts available online for all courses for which we receive handout materials from the speakers. As usual, when you register for the Meeting, you will receive an confirmation of the registration process. This year, once all available handouts have been received, your registration information will be sent with a confirmation that contains a user name and password for accessing the materials specific to your courses. Please plan to print your handouts and to bring them with you to the Meeting. We hope that the notification of this process and the availability of these materials will better prepare you for each presentation.

Interactive Question and Answer Format in All Lectures

Calling all attendees. Hinman Dental Meeting attendees will have an opportunity to present questions to the clinician during the lecture. While the actual format may vary, the audience will be given a chance to submit questions, and the lecturer will provide answers at relevant times during the presentation or at the conclusion.

This opportunity for interactive learning does not in any way decrease or increase the length of the presentation, and Continuing Education codes will still be announced at the conclusion of the scheduled time period.

Come experience learning at its best. Take advantage of the opportunity to get answers to specific questions from experts of the highest integrity in the dental profession!

Professionally Produced Personal Videos for Your Website - Sign Up Now!

New this year, Tone Soup Productions, Inc. will provide you, the dental professional, the opportunity to create your own professionally produced video edited in a DVD format and a streaming video for your website.

Once you have registered for the meeting and selected your video taping session, a packet of professional advice will be sent to prepare you for the 10-minute shoot, complete with wardrobe ideas, talking points and presentation tips, etc. An image consultant will contact you in advance to review the process and be available for last minute instructions. The fee for the shoot and the preparation of the DVD and the streaming video is $495.

A limited number of appointments will be available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Georgia World Congress Center on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees should plan to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment time in order to prepare for the shoot. All dental professionals are encouraged to adhere to the ADA Code of Ethics regarding advertising and self promotion.

You must be registered for the meeting to sign up for a video taping session! To register for the meeting, go to www.hinman.org, click on "Housing and Registration" on the side bar and sign up today!
