It didn’t take me long after graduating from Emory University’s School of Dentistry in the spring of 1978 to realize that I was a really good clinician, but a really bad businessman! Although I had developed some entrepreneurial skills early in life with a lawn-mowing business, and had developed “customer service” skills through employment by a grocer, I really had no clue regarding the many issues involved with opening, operating, or successfully transitioning a small business to its new owner!
Some thirty-eight years later, I’ve managed to do all three! But it wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t always fun! Fortunately, if you’re new to this great profession, you don’t have to attend the same “school of hard knocks” I experienced in order to be a success. And, if you’re a “geezer,” like me, and you’re searching for help with your practice transition, help is near at hand!
This March, through the leadership of General Chairman, Dr. Jim Roos, the Hinman will – once again – offer an all-day presentation featuring world-class experts whose total focus will be on ensuring the future success of Graduates Of the Last Decade through G.O.L.D. 2.0 (Course Fr500)! Practitioners considering their “exit strategies” will benefit from the expertise provided by similar speakers through the brand new S.I.L.V.E.R. program; Strategies to Implement that Lead to a Valuable, Enjoyable Retirement (Course Sa367).
It will be my great joy and privilege to host Friday’s all-day G.O.L.D. event, as attendees learn tangible ways to enhance their clinical, business, personal, and financial success with exciting speakers who have “walked the walk,” and can “talk the talk.” And then Saturday’s half-day S.I.L.V.E.R. course will broaden the legal and financial knowledge of those considering retirement, and can help them avoid costly mistakes through common pitfalls.
Young or old, these programs have been designed and written for you! Rocket to early success through “Hinman G.O.L.D.” or successfully plan your exit strategy through “Hinman S.I.L.V.E.R.”. Don’t miss these incredible “precious metal” opportunities this March at Hinman 2016. I look forward to seeing you there!
