Recently, Dr. Richard Goodroe, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, traveled to the Dental College of Georgia and the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.

On August 24, Dr. Goodroe attended the Welcome Back Luncheon for all DCG students and the school’s annual Scholarship Recognition Ceremony. He was one of several presenters making scholarship presentations that day. Dr. Goodroe recognized seven DCG students (four dental and three hygiene) that received scholarships at the Hinman Dental Meeting last March and made an additional presentation of 40 scholarships to 10 students in each class: freshman, sophomore, junior and senior.

On August 25, at the UAB School of Dentistry, there were many exciting events taking place as well. The incoming freshmen class was welcomed by the Dean and ALL faculty members while receiving their official white coats. It was a really special evening for the students and their families.

Then, on August 26, Dr. Goodroe visited the UAB Dental Hygiene Symposium. It was a great day of continuing education with several lectures. Hinman was proud to sponsor the Hinman-Alabama Education Seminar featuring Dr. Ron Kaminer. Dr. Kaminer is an expert on using lasers in the dental practice.
We appreciate our partnerships with these exemplary educational institutions and we are so glad that Dr. Goodroe was able to “hit the road” and take part in each event.
